CLIENT CASE STUDY
London Taxi Drivers Charity For Children
Long term partnership covering website maintenance & technology support for the London Taxi Drivers’ Charity for Children.
The London Taxi Drivers’ Charity for Children has been creating memorable experiences and providing practical support for disadvantaged and special needs children since 1928.
As the charity approaches its centenary in 2028, Keystone Foundry has been working alongside its committee to strengthen the digital foundations behind that work — from a completely new website and better ways for people to get in touch, through to marketing, video, Microsoft 365 and day-to-day technology support.
THE CASE STUDY IN BRIEF
The Challenge
LTCFC has an extraordinary story to tell.
Almost a century of outings, events, fundraising and support has created a huge archive of photographs, memories and achievements. At the same time, it remains a working charity run by volunteers who need technology to be straightforward, practical and affordable.
The existing website needed more than a visual refresh. It needed to make the charity easier to understand, help supporters find the right information, encourage donations and involvement, and give the committee a platform they could continue building on as the centenary approaches.
There was also a broader question behind the project: how should LTCFC present almost 100 years of history while still looking firmly towards its future?
1/ Website
Building the new LTCFC Website
Keystone Foundry designed and developed a new website for LTCFC around the charity itself rather than forcing its content into a predetermined template.
That meant working closely with the committee to understand what different visitors were actually looking for, how the charity operates and where the website could remove friction.
We helped restructure the site around its history, people, supporters, news and opportunities to get involved, while giving the committee a much stronger platform for publishing the stories and events that demonstrate the impact of its work.
Contact forms were developed collaboratively too. Rather than simply providing a generic enquiry form, we worked with LTCFC to think about the types of enquiries they receive and how information could be collected and directed more effectively – including their whole Appeals process etc, so they can more easily help people who need it.
The result is a site which works as both an introduction to the charity and an increasingly important home for its history as 2028 approaches.
Designed around the Charity
The structure of the website reflects the way that LTCFC runs as a NPO; care and control, with distinct environments designed to be easy to use, maintain, and repurpose elsewhere.
2/ Digital Strategy
Preparing for 100 years
Our involvement has extended beyond the website.
With LTCFC’s centenary now on the horizon, we have been working with the charity on ideas around marketing, communications and digital strategy for 2028, helping the committee think about how the occasion can be used to celebrate its history, engage existing supporters and introduce its work to a new audience.
That has included creating and editing video content and looking at how the wealth of material accumulated over nearly a century can be turned into compelling digital stories.
For an organisation with such a long history, the opportunity is not simply to mark an anniversary. It is to use the centenary to demonstrate why the charity has endured for 100 years, and why its work still matters today.
Technology that Supports the People Behind the Charity
Our relationship with LTCFC has also become a good example of the broader role Keystone Foundry can play.
We have assisted the committee on-site with general IT issues, helped improve the way email is managed through Microsoft 365 and worked through Microsoft’s nonprofit eligibility process so that the charity can take advantage of the services available to qualifying organisations without unnecessarily spending charitable funds on technology.
None of these things individually needs to be a major technology project.
What matters is having someone available who understands the organisation, its systems and its priorities — and who can solve the problem without turning it into something more complicated than it needs to be.
3/ Ongoing SEO
An Ongoing Partnership
The LTCFC project was never really just about building a website. It has developed into an ongoing relationship covering web design, marketing, video, technology and strategic advice, with Keystone Foundry able to move between those areas as the charity needs us.
That is especially valuable as 2028 approaches.
LTCFC has spent almost a century bringing people together to improve the lives of children. Our job is to make sure the technology and digital presence behind that work help them tell that story, support what they do today and make the most of an extraordinary milestone still to come.
Value Within the Partnership
SEO, maintenance, support are all handled with the utmost care and each taken into consideration when making changes, allowing for easier content creation to support the charity’s goals.
